FAQ
#1: What is the procedure after I sign up? What do you
need from me?
The procedure is very simple: Place your order online -
you just need to select either the Google Sitemap file for
$250 or the Yahoo Sitemap file for $125 and/or both for
$350 ($250 + $125 less $25 discount). We do not need to receive anything
from you. As long as your site is live online, we can
"crawl" its content and capture every single
page (even if your website is dynamic). In other words,
aside from receiving your order, we do not need to receive
anything else from you in order to build your Google and
Yahoo Sitemap files.
Within 5-10 business days, your Sitemap file(s) will be
ready for upload. We will then send your Sitemap file(s)
to you or your webmaster with clear uploading
instructions. If you prefer to have our technicians upload
your Sitemap file(s), it is absolutely no problem! Simply
send us the FTP access to your site and we will upload
your Sitemap file(s) accordingly. We offer an
all-inclusive service.
In other words, getting your Google and/or Yahoo Sitemap
file(s) will only take you 5 minutes (just the time to
place you order!).

FAQ
#2: What happens when I make a change to my site? How
often do Sitemap files need to be updated?
Sitemap files should be updated every 12-18 months. When
launching a Sitemap File, all major sections/pages of your
website get indexed according to the Sitemap file
configuration/architecture. Further crawling procedures
are being performed based on pyramidal-crawling-sessions.
In other terms, since Google and/or Yahoo have initially
captured the essentials of your site based on your initial
Sitemap file(s) information, they will always compare your
website's content with the first crawling they did when we
initially uploaded your Sitemap file(s). The difference
they will find (new pages or sections deleted) will be
automatically indexed accordingly.
Although we don’t recommend more than 1 Sitemap File
update per year, should you have a main section removed
from your site and wish us to amend your Sitemap file(s)
accordingly, we charge $50 per update.
FAQ
#3: Is it a one-time fee - any recurrent charges?
It is a one-time fee which does not include yearly
updates. In fact, as advised in our FAQ #2, it is
recommended to update your Google and Yahoo Sitemap file(s)
at least once per year in order to reflect potential
changes performed on your site. However, if no change has
been performed on your site from one year to the next, you
do not need to perform any updates. Updates are strictly
recommended for websites featuring evolving content (new
pages/sections, etc.).
FAQ
#4: All my pages have been indexed properly by Google and
Yahoo... Do I really need a Sitemap file?
Google, like most major search engines, visits your
website on a regular basis because in today’s internet
context, it is not just a matter of where you rank
currently, but rather a challenge of maintaining your
existing rankings. This is why Google and Yahoo come back
and forth to your website and re-index its overall content
in order to reassess its ranking eligibility on a regular
basis. Since Google will index and re-index your pages
almost on a monthly basis, why not make things easier for
Google? Once again, the fact that your site has been
previously indexed does not matter: When re-indexing your
site, Google starts from scratch each time, as if it was
the first time crawling through your content.
Should you have a Sitemap file? Of course, you have a
choice...The same choice as when Google crawls through
your site: Do you want to feature an easy-to-access
profile or do you want to make it harder for Google to
capture your website information?!? Anyway, Google states
that you need to have a Sitemap file, so it is obvious
that we all do.

FAQ
#5: How long does it take you to process an order?
Deadline for completion: 7-10 business days following
reception of your order
FAQ
#6: Can Sitemap files be considered SEO?
Sitemap files cannot quite be categorized under SEO. In
fact, Search Engine Optimization only refers to the
content of your website. Basically, Sitemap files are the
“bridge” between your website content and the database
of major search engines. Sitemap files greatly facilitate
access to your website information and enhance the
accuracy of each crawling and indexing session.
In other words, it always will be the content of your
website which will define your ranking eligibility and
nothing else! However, if Google takes the time to post
online a page titled What
is a Sitemap file and why do I need one?, it is
obvious that every responsible online marketer should take
action accordingly.
FAQ
#7: Can I set up Sitemap files on my own or ask my
webmaster to do so?
If you wish to do it on
your own, yes, it is possible. In fact, Google gives
step-by-step instruction. Additionally, there are many
free software on the web which you can download to create
Sitemap files on your own ..... but the technical
ramifications are numerous and this is why we strongly
advise you to call upon someone experienced. There is no
room for error.
Use our team of experienced technicians or your own
people, but do get your Sitemap files!
When choosing someone to perform the job, make sure that
such person is qualified and experienced to perform such
task. In other words, do make sure that such individual is
not setting up a Sitemap file for the first time, using
your website as a “testing ground”. Just to give you
an idea, please click on the following link which will
take you to the section of Google allowing you to set up a
Sitemap file on your own: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/protocol.html#sitemapOverview.
When evaluating the complexity of such challenge, you will
realize that you need someone qualified & experienced
to set up and register your Sitemap files!!!!
FAQ
#8: When did search engines start using Sitemap files, and
why?
Around August 2004, Google came up with Sitemap files in
an effort to index website content with more accuracy.
With the increasing amount of websites posting new daily
content and with the growing number of URLs featuring
dynamic content, it became necessary for major search
engines to develop a code which prepares the websites’
contents in a way which facilitates the crawling process
from one month to the next.
FAQ
#9: Do I need a Google AND a Yahoo Sitemap file? Is a
Yahoo Sitemap file important?
The Google Sitemap file based on the XML protocol was so
extremely efficient for Google that Yahoo jumped on the
bandwagon and collaborated with Google to adopt the same
technology. It is the first time to our knowledge that the
2 main competitors have cooperated in a long time on such
an important technology.
It is obvious that you
should get a Google Sitemap file as a priority, but a
Yahoo Sitemap file is also very important. Amongst major
search engines, top competitors constantly spy on each
other’s database. Yahoo is the only real competitor to
Google. Although much smaller in terms of overall market
share, we strongly advise you to not only sign up for a
Google Sitemap file, but also a Yahoo Sitemap file. Once
again, it is a one-time fee.
